About
Prior to joining the GSC, Billy was a lecturer in the department of communication at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, where he taught courses in social movement communication and gender communication. He was previously the Director of LGBTQ+ Affairs at University of Florida. He is also a research fellow with the Unit for Institutional Change and Social Justice at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Billy’s doctoral degree is in rhetoric from Georgia State University. His service, teaching, and research all focus on Queer and Trans worldmaking projects that aim to create a more socially just world on campus and beyond.
