Out@UIC List
The Out@UIC list consists of members of the UIC community, including faculty, staff, and postgraduate students, who identify as LGBTQIA+. Out@UIC members are willing to serve as mentors and part of an informal network for the LGBTQIA+ community. The list is also intended to serve as a tool for recruiting and retaining the most talented people, to foster a culture in which everyone feels that their contributions are valued, and to increase visibility of LGBTQIA+ lives at UIC. Students, staff members, faculty, and applicants to the institution are welcome to contact individuals on the Out@UIC list for advice and networking.
We recognize that these names represent just a few of the LGBTQIA+ members of our UIC community. There are barriers that prevent some members of our community from safely coming out. We hope that this list serves as a reminder that LGBTQIA+ people deserve to live open and safe lives at UIC and beyond.
