  • What to Expect

Lavender Graduation is a celebration of the academic and personal achievements of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual + (LGBTQIA+) students and their supportive communities. The event is open to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from every college at UIC.

Lavender Graduation is a beautiful event for graduates and those who support them. We have special guest speakers from UIC and in the community, powerful keynote address, reception, entertainment, and graduates receive their own certificate and tassel/cord to use for their other graduations.

Lavender Graduation supports the recruitment, retention, and successful graduation of many LGBTQIA+ students each year.
