Living Queer Monthly Issue #3
After two sold-out salons, we're coming back together to celebrate our beautiful Queerness!
Once a month, a bunch of Chicago artists and community members get together to share personal stories about how everyday LGBTQ+ folx are overcoming current policies. We're strategizing and sharing ways to fight back and be there for each other with creativity, care, and collective fire!
We call it a salon, but it's also an open mic, a strategy session, a pizza party, and a love letter to Queer joy.
6:00 pm Doors Open
6:30 pm Food & Community Hangout
7:00 pm Stories + Performances
7:45 pm More Food, More Time Together
Come for the community, stay for the movement. We can't wait to see you!
Emilio Williams hosts and curates Issue #3. (Let's discuss how we're organizing future editions.)
Thanks to our community partners About Face Theater, Youth Empowerment Performance Project (YEPP), and UIC Gender and Sexuality Center.
A special shoutout to David Lee Csicsko for the stunning series of posters he designed for the salon!

ALERT: COMMUNITY EMERGENCY. Our partners at the Youth Empowerment Project are facing an unexpected eviction from their facility. We will discuss how we can all help in many ways with this crisis affecting the most vulnerable among us: Queer youth struggling with homelessness.

How can you support YEPP in finding a new home?
- Suggest a space: We are looking both for an interim and a long term space. Please, consider completing the form Space Suggestions if you know of a location that would be a fit for YEPP’s current programming.
- Volunteer support: If able to donate some of your time, please consider completing our volunteer form Supporting our Move.
- Monetary Donation: We need extra funding to cover unexpected expenses. Please consider supporting our fundraising campaign “Finding Our Home” to make a monetary donation; you can also go to our GoFundMe page.
- Suggest Rapid Response Funds: If you know of any rapid response fund that we can consider based on who we are as an organization and the nature of our current situation, please consider filling out the Rapid Response Fund Support form to provide us with the information.
