Hi! I’m the creator of this exhibition, better known as @inkybattlefields, and my pronouns are they/them/theirs. I am a second-year college student majoring in Gender/Women’s Studies and following the pre-med track. I am proudly nonbinary (which means my gender is neither male or female) and Filipinx-American. A Note from the Creator: Heading link
As the creator, I firmly believe that it is my responsibility to recognize my privileges and acknowledge my own fallacies. While I can speak for myself and this cast of victors that we have done our best to showcase diversity, there are still some folx whose identities are not represented in the works.
To my trans-femmes and intersex and disabled folx (in both visible and nonvisible ways):
I see you, I apologize, and I will do better.
To those who are not in the position to be “out” and live authentically and proudly that some of us have the privilege to:
I see you, I apologize, and I hope that one day you will be able to live safety as who you are.
To those in which the timing just wasn’t right: I see you, I apologize, and I will do better.
To the questioning and to those who hold infinitely faceted identities that I will never understand:
I see you, I apologize, and I will do better.
To all who feel as if their bodies and narratives are not adequately reflected in this cast:
I see you, I apologize for not adequately advocating for you, and I will do better.
This collection of narratives is just as much for you as it is for everyone else, and please let me know how I can do better as a creator.
After all, who ever claimed that VICTORY was complete?
